Our Story
Longtime Mooresville residents and Texas natives, John and Elizabeth Maddox began Big Tiny's BBQ to bring the mouthwatering flavor of Texas barbecue to their corner of North Carolina! Together for over 18 years, John and Elizabeth love their 3 furry children - so much so that the name Big Tiny's BBQ originates from their firstborn, Tiny!
John grew up in Midland Texas smoking BBQ with his father, including several different catering and concession ventures. After a successful 25-year career in motorsports, he decided to hang up his wrenches and take on the task of Pitmaster! Partnered with Elizabeth's 20 years of administrative services specialization and their 18+ years of perfecting family recipes, the duo embarked on their new journey of opening Big Tiny's BBQ. Texas Style Mesquite Smoked BBQ is Big Tiny's BBQ specialty. Brisket, Ribs, Sausage, and Turkey are the standard fare along with an accompaniment of sides.
